In early December 2023, TWBF Director of International Affairs Scott Pursner traveled to Czechia to for exchanges and meetings with the Czech Society for Ornithology. Mr Pursner was invited by CSO Director Zdeněk Vermouzek who hoped that the visit could continue the relationship-building between the two organizations which had been growing over the last few years.

From November 13-16, 2023, a group of Taiwanese NGOs visited Thailand where they learned about the salt pan wetland conservation work and related issues taking place there, particularly through the efforts of the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand. Organized by the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST) and the Taiwan Wild Bird Federation (TWBF), the visit built on an online session held between the organizations in September 2023.

From November 1-6, 2023, Mr. Ian Davies, project coordinator for eBird, visited Taiwan for the first time. The trip was organized by the Taiwan Wild Bird Federation and Taiwan Biodiversity Research Institute to hold meetings about the use of eBird in Taiwan, and help Mr. Davies to meet key stakeholders in the Taiwanese birding community.

On June 3, 2023 the Taoyuan Wild Bird Society hosted the first Taiwan Little Tern Conservation Workshop. It was supported by the Ocean Conservation Administration and took place in two parts. 

On May 22, 2023 the Kaohsiung Wild Bird Society in collaboration with a number of local businesses hosted a pilot version of their Little Happiness Trip. The group's Budai Salt Pan Wetlands team hosted the day-long event and invited representatives from media, NGOs, and local government to get their feedback.

In late December 2022 the TWBF was delighted to welcome CSO Director Zdeněk Vermouzek and his family to Taiwan for a visit which included exploring the country, getting into nature, and of course, birds!

As part of the collaboration between the Taiwan Wild Bird Federation and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on the topic of seabird bycatch mitigation, the TWBF hosted two international experts from November 5th to November 12, 2022. The guests included Ms. Stephanie Prince, the High Seas Programme Manager for the RSPB and Dr. Dimas Gianuca of Brazil, a seabird bycatch expert. It was Ms. Prince's fourth trip to Taiwan and the first for Dr. Gianuca.

On May 14th, 2022, birders and nature enthusiasts around the world joined in the third annual Global Big Day bird count organized by Global Birding and powered by the eBird online platform. During the event, 51,455 people from 201 countries recorded 7,673 species on 132,350 checklists, an increase of 433 species from the 2021 Global Big Day!
